In September 2019, our Love Adoption Life girls met with a sweet, young Mama who was incarcerated. Mama M had made some bad choices in her life but they ultimately led her to us. She was pregnant with a little boy and working on serving her time to get her life back on track. After meeting with our staff, she decided the best choice for her and her baby boy was to place him for adoption. We got to work right away and found the perfect family for her. Heather and Alex were officially matched in October 2019.
In January 2020, we were able to set up a visit at the prison in Florida for Heather and Alex to meet Mama M. It was a first for us, but we enjoyed every minute of it! Prior to this visit, Heather and Alex emailed with Mama M regularly but there was an instant connection the second they were able to see each other in person. During the visit, they snacked and chatted for hours. The connection was so sweet and genuine, it was as if they had known each other for years. After the visit, Heather and Alex were able to set up video chats with Mama M and show her around the baby’s room.
In March 2020, Mama M went into labor and gave birth to baby Ezra. He was born Monday, March 30 at 8:48pm weighing 6lbs 9oz and was 19″ long. Heather and Alex th hopped in the car right away so excited to meet their baby boy. They had a 20 hour drive ahead of them but their excitement made it feel so much longer.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the strict rules at the hospital, Heather and Alex weren’t able to go inside and meet their baby as they normally would have. One of our girls had to go inside to pick up Baby Ezra and be wheeled out in a wheel chair as Heather and Alex were anxiously waiting outside. That is a moment our Love Adoption Life team will never forget.
